‘Small Sfuff John’ Commercializes the Moment of the Day
If you didn’t pee a little when Pete and John from Alabama were talking about today’s “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff Moment”, you have no sense of humor. John’s attempt to hijack “the Moment” to re-plug his website (butterbeehappy.com), and Pete calling him on it, was the thing I’m most grateful for so far today.
What do you all think about these new daily moments? Did Pete not do the same thing he accused “Small Stuff John” of doing by hijacking the moment to tell a personal story about his wife? Will the producers of Lost ever tell us what the hell is going on with the plot?
That was horrifying. Glad it’s over
Brian,
Thanks for the recent comments on the side bar!
Excellent! Can you give us an RSS feed link to recent comments?
I didn’t really mean to Hi-Jack the moment! I just started talking, now I feel bad about it. I didn’t really understand what they wanted :\

John, I thought it was hilarious. Both of you were making great radio.
Aaron, your letter was great, and your mom was even better. Great segment!
Yea I thought it was awesome that he plugged his blog in his moment too…hilarious.
I have a great idea for monday’s don’t sweat the small stuff moment of the day. I will give you my address and everyone listening can send me $1 in the mail. They will each then in turn convince 10 gullible friends to also send me a dollar based on the principle of Karma and/or the false notion that some unfathomable calamity will descend upon them like a plague if they don’t. Those ten friends will do the same and then so on and so on. If it works out the way I’m hoping I will go from a sub-thousandaire to a bonafide millionaire in no time and the viewers will get the deep sense of gratification that will come from knowing they have helped one simple man acheive his life long dream of getting paid to do nothing. Everybody wins. Just trying to one-up John Pounders on the shameless self promotion.
Woo! Well I just dropped your $1 in the mail. However I couldn’t afford the the cost of mailing, postage due on your end will be $1.
This may be drifting off topic a bit but I just read some of the thing people are happy about today on John’s site. One happy person says she is happy that God is entirely in control of her and her children’s lives. How comforting (or perhaps horrifying is a better word) it must be for her to feel that she has no control over her own life or lives of her children.
Dear Happy but Crazy,
Make sure you remember to feed your children tomorrow. I know god is in control but he’s relying on you to pour those cheerios, cloth your children, take them to school, protect them, provide for their healthcare, and make every possible decision to promote their safety and well being. Hmmmm. Sounds like you might be in control after all. Well damn it all. Guess you only 4 things to be happy about today.
Bryan,
I’ll set up a paypal account. Don’t you worry. I know how badly you want me to have that dollar. We’ll make it happen.
I don’t even give money to “homeless” people on the side of the road, what makes you think I will send you a dollar? I keep bottles of water, gatorade, and nutrition bars and offer that instead, but rarely have them accept. Go figure
Weston: I like the way you think, though; would you like to be my business partner?
Speaking of small stuff, the time on your blog is off by one hour, Pete.
There is another saying: ” It’s the little things that are the big things”
As George Carlin says: "Don’t sweat the petty things and don’t pet the sweaty things"
Martin,
Business partners eh? If the concept involves bottled water, gatorade, and nutrition bars you may want to spend a little more time in development. I’ll tell you what… we’ll talk shop after I get my dollar. And remember, you’re always free to send more than one. God loves a cheerful giver Martin.
The aforementioned concept is that of giving away those items free of charge to those in need, even though those who appear to be in need are not always necesarily in need.
And yes I am cheerful, I will take into consideration as to how I willl send you the dollar. God loves me no matter how cheerful I am or how much I give.
Maybe I will send a peso.
