wtf…..we all thought you were on the special debates one..thats the one it took us too….damnit
So the liveblog turned out to be a rather hectic affair. I know some people had trouble getting into the thing. We had more than 80 people joining us. We probably won’t use the same software in the future because it was kind of a pain… though it also had really cool features like live reader polling, sound clips, etc. And regular chat — which requires less management on our end, doesn’t differentiate between “panelists” (me, Pete, Joe) and “commenters”. I know a lot of folks just tuned in to see Pete’s comments and wouldn’t want those buried.
We did fail to approve some comments, but believe me there was no discrimination (Todd from FL). We had to click comments in a little window as fast as we could, and it was a HUGE pain in the ass. I was so busy, I really did not get a chance to watch the debate or participate in the liveblog until the end.
Also Pete figured out the software fully 40 minutes before I predicted he would, so I’ll go ahead and call him Daddy.
Thanks to everyone who participated and made the chat more fun and the debate less grueling.
Oh boy, I just saw this comment in the liveblog “replay” that I totally missed yesterday. (I’m skimming through and reading stuff I didn’t catch.)
Don’t you just love it when people who don’t know what then fuck they’re talking about speak up and state ridiculous facts? Isn’t it great how then the rest of us have to correct people who should have shut their uninformed mouths in the first place?
“Madrassa” is Arabic for school, and it can refer to any kind of school, including secular. Sure, it is usually used in the West to describe Islamic schools, but of course the vast majority of those are neither fundamentalist or militant. But, whatever, truth doesn’t matter, right?
God damn am I sick of people making stuff up and then asserting it. Is anyone else sick of that?

The Draft - deprives us of our freedom (involuntary servitude - aka slavery!) - forces the population to fight unpopular wars.
Socialism (’spreading the wealth’) - government takes property that legitimately belongs to others. Capitalism made the US the wonder of the world and differentiated us from all the other ‘-isms’. We have the immigration problem not Russia, Germany, etc.
Actions contrary to or which diminish the ‘rule of law’.
Actions or laws contrary to our right of self defense in particular our individual right to keep and bear arms.
