“If you're going to tell people the truth, you better make them laugh; otherwise they'll kill you.”  —George Bernard Shaw

Independent Thinking

If you’re not outraged, you’re not paying attentionPete and his listeners are spouting off today. My little brother gets this way every so often when he sees how much back-asswards stuff is going on. Who hasn’t felt that way? If you pay attention to what’s going on, you probably feel that way a lot. What’s wrong with this country? Is Pete’s cynicism unhealthy or right on? Do you share it? What, if anything, gives you hope?

Pete, you can’t let this stuff get you down!

You, as a comedian, know as well as anybody the importance of keeping your sense of humor in the face of things that are hard to see humor in. You’re doing what is possibly the best talk show on Serius and you’ve only just begun. If you let these things get to you, it’ll hurt you and hurt your show.

Keep the ballance…walk the line…and as soon as my phone starts working again I’ll be calling in

Pete, your cynicism shows that you understand what is happening. I find that the more I pay attention, the more cynical I become. I try to remain optimistic, but I can’t keep the rose colored glasses on for too long without shutting off a part of my critical thinking.
Keep on with your great show!

    Pete,

I have started listening to your show everyday from work and I love it! You are getting the issues out without all the bull shit. Thank you for getting the Veteran’s issues out to the public. As a veteran, I don’t beleive all the issues with our treatment or lack there of are in the light of the public.
Love your show! Keep it up!

Most Americans share your frustration. We have constant reminders that those who we elect to represent us, don’t have our best interests in mind.

Nor do these multi millionaires truly represent us, the working middle class. Remember when George Bush Sr. thought that a loaf of bread only cost 25 cents? (shaking head)

    You, cynical? Nope, you’re alright.

Being pissed off about all that goes on in this world can give anyone a headache. As I listen to your show about how fucked up this country is getting, and Stanhope talked about how he doesn’t want to bring kids into this world because of it, we all need to keep in mind that children are like the flowers we plant in the garden each spring. We watch them struggle a bit, we water them, feed them, and eventualy we notice that once they take root, they are fine. They add color to the garden and bring joy to anyone who takes the time to stop and notice them. While it is not important for an individual to reproduce, it is necesary for the species to do so, therefore we can do without Stanhopes fucked up genes in our pool. That’s not to say we can’t enjoy the polen given off by Stanhope in the form of comedy.
Keep up the good show Pete, and please have Stanhope back, I love his wit and wisdom, or is it wisdumb?

    Pete,

What you are doing is the right thing. It’s about time people have a place to have open-minded discussions; otherwise, we would be stuck in the biased views that keep separating this country.

I believe it is healthy to be angry at the government. This shows that we are here, we have our ears open, and we are concerned.

I enjoy your show and have been learning a lot. Thanks man.

Thank you Travis. I have the feeling I will enjoy this site as much as I enjoy Indie Talk.
