What other show could bring you Matt Taibbi, a Catholic Priest (Father Dan from the Sirius Catholic Channel 159) and Douche of the Week all on the same day? Pete’s Big Mouth is truly Dynamic! Taibbi, was on to discuss the campaign contributions that the presidential candidates are getting and also the very complicated issue that is offshore drilling. He seemed to believe that the Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less mentality was flawed, misleading and basically a political stunt. Let’s put some more thoughts and ideas out there on this subject.
Father Dave had a heart warming talk with Pete about religion, some of the devisiveness involved with it and his life journey in Catholicism. If you enjoyed Father Dave you can check him out on The Sirius Catholic Channel 159. His show is called The Busted Halo.
And Finally, The Douche of the Week. This weeks winner was from a caller (Dan in Iowa) who nominated John McCain for mocking Obama and his suggestion for people to properly inflate their tires in an effort to conserve oil. So congratulations callers you won this time. Now if you’ll excuse me I have to update my Facebook Status.
I enjoyed the talk with Father Dan, being a lost sheep myself.
I wish he would have answered more directly whether religion and faith should take precedence over family.
He pretty much tap danced right passed it.
Also, the whole male dominance thing within the church is archaic in my opinion and he skirted that issue.
As far as drilling………..we’re the ones getting drilled no matter how the policy changes!
What I called for in the first place was about drilling. I say the oil companies don’t use the dry land thats already leased to them. I say fuck um, if they don’t use the leased land they ain’t getting the oceans. Drilling may help the future in 10, 20 or how ever many years everyone thinks it may be. I for one don’t know or think anyones knows whats going to make a difference when it comes to drilling, all I know is everyone and their fucking cousins are talking about energy and nobody is coming up with solutions. Since fuel hit astronomical heights we fell off of the topic of the war. The only thing brought up lately about the war is the United States deficit and Iraq’s surplus. Now we have the olympics which will have everyone watching the world act like it actually gives a fuck about each other. I would doubt if Obama uses his 5 million ad the oppurtunity to announce a running mate which nobody thinks will happen, but thats why its the perfect idea, noones expecting it and while all eyes are on the idiot box watching figure skating and sycronized swimming suddenly you’ll see Obama’s mug talking about his running mate and I wouldn’t doubt if it was the second to last or last day of the olympics when it happens. The McCain will stick to his word and announce after Obama. But McCain wants to announce after Obama to steal Obama’s thunder for once, but it won’t work because Obama had the audacity to announce during the olympics. Not saying it will happen that way but I won’t rule it out!
I really wished that Kwame Kilpatrick would have been nominated for the award… I had some business to attend to when this happened.
It would have been good to hear Taibbi especially on Sirius where he can swear like a sailor. Will try to catch the replay.
