“If you're going to tell people the truth, you better make them laugh; otherwise they'll kill you.”  —George Bernard Shaw

Also on Thursday’s Show

Ever wish you could get a dream professionally analyzed? If you have daily talk show, it’s apparently a breeze. You can call your producer and tell him you had a dream — about him — and, if that producer is the fearless Brendan McDonald, he’ll call a specialist in and you can get psychoanalyzed on the air. We all know Pete has issues (I’ve known this for 32 years), and now we get to see if he secretly wants to have sex with his producer’s mom.

Pete will also welcome wounded Iraq War veteran Steve Chapman to talk about his experiences.

Throw in an extensive interview with Stephen Colbert, and we’ve got quite a show in the works…

Colbert Interview Thursday!

Pete and StephenTonight I hacked into the Sirius mainframe to grab the audio of Pete’s much-hyped interview with Stephen Colbert. Unfortunately, the overnight tech staff (Joe?) busted me, and all I could recover were three 20-second clips. But if you’re a Pete Dominick/Stephen Colbert junkie, this might just hold you over until you hear the full interview on Thursday’s program.

Wednesday’s Show

Pete’s welcoming two guests today, in addition to your calls.

Laura BeckVegan blogger Laura Beck will be the first challenger on “Change Pete’s Mind,” a new segment where guests try to convince Pete that he’s on one wrong path or another. We expect to have a lot of fun with it, as we’ll be welcoming people with a diverse range of viewpoints to work Pete over on their pet issue. Laura’s formidable task is to convince Pete to adopt a vegan lifestyle. But that would mean foregoing much of his wife’s excellent cooking as well as those semi-secret trips to McDonald’s and his reputed patronage of tigersex.com, which Pete recently described on the air as a website showing “men doing it with Bengal tigers” (that can’t be vegan!).

Also chatting it up with Pete will be Dr. Patrick Swift, PhD, author of One Mountain, Many Paths. Dr. Swift says:

Working for peace in the world is not just the job of diplomats and politicians. It involves you, me, and our neighbors next door - even if they live on the other side of the planet. True and lasting peace for the world can only be attained through mutual respect and understanding for one another - not through violence - and I believe that we all have a part in supporting peace in our communities and in our world.

We’ll see if the good doctor wants to get any more specific than that.

Joe Salzone as Ultimate FighterThere’s talk around the studio that blogcaster extraordinaire and former Ultimate Fighting contender Joe Salzone will throw down the gauntlet, challenging the peace-loving Dr. Swift to a mixed martial arts cage match.

Monday’s Lineup…

Pete’s kicking off the week with some great stuff…

“Self-made millionaire” Al Parinello of Preserve the American Dream (PAID) will be on to talk about how the wealthy are “America’s most hated and despised minority.” That should be loads of fun.

“Bill Clinton” calls in with a special message.

And… a new study suggests the US war in Iraq will cost $12 billion a month in 2008. It’s just a guess, but I suspect Pete will be none too pleased about that one. Got a better idea where that money could go?

Pete’s also going to try to address some topics sent in by listeners over email, so keep the ideas coming…
