Friday’s Show

What other show could bring you Matt Taibbi, a Catholic Priest (Father Dan from the Sirius Catholic Channel 159) and Douche of the Week all on the same day? Pete’s Big Mouth is truly Dynamic! Taibbi, was on to discuss the campaign contributions that the presidential candidates are getting and also the very complicated issue that is offshore drilling.  He seemed to believe that the Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less mentality was flawed, misleading and basically a political stunt. Let’s put some more thoughts and ideas out there on this subject.

Father Dave had a heart warming talk with Pete about religion, some of the devisiveness involved with it and his life journey in Catholicism. If you enjoyed Father Dave you can check him out on The Sirius Catholic Channel 159. His show is called The Busted Halo.

And Finally, The Douche of the Week. This weeks winner was from a caller (Dan in Iowa) who nominated John McCain for mocking Obama and his suggestion for people to properly inflate their tires in an effort to conserve oil. So congratulations callers you won this time.   Now if you’ll excuse me I have to update my Facebook Status.

The West Memphis Three

Pete had Burk Sauls and Kathy Bakken on Friday’s show to bring attention to The West Memphis Three. An interesting story that could change drastically based on DNA evidence. What did you think of the interview? Did you learn anything? Will you get involved?

The News IQ Quiz

Joe Matarese Reads the NewspaperComedian Joe Matarese’s score percentile matched that of his son’s head size: 35th. That’s pretty pathetic, but I think he got like 2 correct, so maybe we should look at it positively. The best part was when Pete claimed Joe chose Bosnia as his answer to the Serbia question because it was the only answer Joe had actually heard of, and then Joe said, “No, I’ve heard of Kosovo” — which happened to be the correct answer, just not his choice.

If you want, take the quiz for yourself and let us know your score.

More Doug Stanhope

Doug is always a great guest because, like Pete, you never quite know what he’s going to say. There’s a ton of great, hilarious political (and non-political) Stanhope humor on the Web. Here are some links:

Stanhope for President

Update: Doug and Pete got into it over such issues as health care as a right, corporations and the free market, affirmative action, overpopulation, and so many other topics. I’m a big Stanhope fan, but I was really glad we got to go after him on the libertarian stances, about which he could not have been a better sport, which is the sign of a truly decent person, whatever the views. The phone lines were lit up the whole time, so if you didn’t get through, let’s hear it right now and here.

The Colbert Interview

So now the interview has played. I heard it when you did. It was a really great look into Colbert’s mind, but I was personally a little disappointed. The fast back-and-forth moments were the best by far.

Colbert with Flag

Pete asked some of the questions I wrote for him, but nothing about Dungeons and Dragons, which has me kind of sad. What did you all think? What do you want to know about Stephen Colbert.

Update: Lots of places have picked up on the interview. Here are some links:

Colbert Interview Thursday!

Pete and StephenTonight I hacked into the Sirius mainframe to grab the audio of Pete’s much-hyped interview with Stephen Colbert. Unfortunately, the overnight tech staff (Joe?) busted me, and all I could recover were three 20-second clips. But if you’re a Pete Dominick/Stephen Colbert junkie, this might just hold you over until you hear the full interview on Thursday’s program.

Dane Cook Interview

Dane Cook Interview

Well I finally met the guy. He was the 161st comedian / actor I have interviewed for Sirius. The suits certainly made a huge deal out of it. I can understand why. He is the most famous comedian in the world right now and has been on top for a couple of years.

To me it was not just another interview because it was an hour long rather than 15 minutes or so that I am used to. Also they wanted to do some different things so I had to prepare a lot more. Which I did.

And I wont lie and say I wasnt excited to meet a guy I have heard about every day for 2 years been compared to (all comedians are) and heard so many mixed reviws about.

I have recieved lots of e mails asking me about Dane. I would say how come I dont recieve that many asking about Greg Giraldo or Artie Lange. Guys I am actually friends with.

I can say this. I liked Dane Cook. He came off as sincere and extremely hard working. Two qualities I admire. I am sorry I cant slam him and rant about him but I would be lying if I did.

Dane was cool and had a lot of fun. So did I. The suits were all really happy and they replayed the thing a hundred times. In the end I was proud of doing it right and the fact that I had so much exposure to someone so on fire. I guess that means that I must be doing well too.

It means that I work for a legit company that reaches a lot of people.

I think the interview was funny and entertaining and I hope you did too.
